TSE Secret Santa 2023: The Little Things
“You fell asleep on the couch again.” Noah frowned, huffing softly as a low voice pierced the veil of sleep that blanketed him. His frown deepened when a warm hand pressed against his cheek and he groaned, rolling over in an attempt to ward off the approaching wakefulness and the person causing it. It didn’t work. “Come on, you know you’re going to have a terrible crick in your neck if you don’t get up.” Hands wrapped under his arms, gently pulling him up and away from the warmth of his slumber. “I promise you can go right back to sleep once you’re in a proper bed. Apen was dreaming. He knew it, too. Maybe that's why his dream-self didn't even flinch as he tumbled down the stairs. Thump. Thump. Thump. Wait... the muffled thumping was rapidly sharpening into knocks. He heard a voice call out- Berlyne's, maybe. "Hello-o! You alive in there?" Next thing he knew he was being tackled by an energetic ball of Chara. "wakeupwakeupwakeupit'sChristmasit'sChristmasit'sChristmas!!!" (Yes, this really was shrieked with three exclamation marks.) "Okay, I'm up!" exclaimed Apen, nudging Chara off of him. "ComeonComeon!" "What's the big rush?" he asked. "It's Christmas , silly! We've been waiting all morning for you to wake up. Dad won't let us do anything until 'every member of the household is up and at 'em.'" Chara said, ending with an uncanny impersonation of her father. Apen looked to Berlyne to help him defend himself, but she just arched her eyebrows. "Really, how can you sleep in this late on
